T O P I C     R E V I E W yada Hi, Im using AG with external Flac encoder. AG first rips the song to wav and then calls the Flac.exe encoder, the encoder command screen comes up and then closes immediately without doing anything. Does someone have any insights as to why this is happening? Many Thanks in advance. Tomb Sounds like there is something wrong with your argument. What string are you using? bascule I have the exact same problem. I'm a long-time AG user, previously ripping direct to OGG without any problems. I ripped a whole album to FLAC, using the latest version (FLAC 1.1.1) as an external encoder and the default command line in AG (just tagging info, basically). About one-in-three of the tracks were encoded and none had tag info. I then changed from rip-and-encode at once to rip all to WAV then encode all. This time I got all tracks encoded, but a lot of the tag info was truncated or missing. I also tried variations of using STDIN/OUT without any greater success. This is so frustrating, as I love AG and so wanted to use it for FLAC as well as OGG but I can't afford the time to check and fix tags every time. It seems to me to be a mis-match in timings or sequencing/scheduling between AG and flac.exe Can anyone help fix this problem? EDIT: I have searched this board and others and have found references to the problem, but no solutions. I've also picked up some hints which I'll try, but I think the problem is perhaps more software/hardware incompatibility than anything else. Anyone got a work-around or fix? [This message has been edited by bascule on 14 January 2005 @ 02:21] Tomb I think this is a bug in Audiograbber as I believe it's the way Audiograbber sends the information to the encoder. It also happens when using FAAC. I will raise with jackie. In the meantime rip your waves as normal and use a frontend to encode and tag your files. These ones are pretty good. I'll look into FLAC frontend, which I had already tried, but seemed to have difficulty understanding the tagging syntax. After a further search on the board, I think I might have understood it now. It's good to find an active forum for help of this nature Tomb You need to download tag to use with both the FLAC and Multifrontend.
