It took me awhile- being so new at everything- but with Jackie's help, I found the ini file in the AG folder. I had 'show all hidden folders' set, etc. It opened in wordpad- I wanted to change the DatatrackSelectable=False to True or Yes. But, I can't find the line that says that. I believe I have the right file- starts with [MAIN] then ProgramRunning= and so on. What am I doing wrong- besides doing things I don't know much about? If I did find this setting, do I just delete False and replace it? I have windows Me if that makes any difference, which I doubt. Can you help me find it? Thanks for the help- ahead of time.

Not all of the extra settings in the inifile are actually in there as default. If you can't find the setting then you can manually add it to the inifile.

To find the inifile, go to the windows explorer (winkey+e on the keyboard is a fast way to open it up). Browse to you AG folder.

Make sure you show all extensions, such as .exe, .ini, .hlp and so on. (Windows defaults to not showing everything. I don't think there is actually anyone who wants it that way.) You find these settings in the Tools menu, or the show menu, depending on version of windows.

Do not run any instances of Audiograbber when editing the inifile. Then, open audiograbber.ini in notepad or any other text editor. Change the settings you think you need to change. Note that you can screw up if you edit it incorrectly!

Read more about it in the helpfile, search for "Extra settings in audiograbber.ini". Jackie has still however not documented everything in the helpfile, the datatrackselectable e.g. is not mentioned in there.

Thank you. In my help file- there is a mention (in the extra settings section), I just can't find it in the ini file. I assume the best thing to do is make a data back-up file on a disc before attempting anything like this? Thanks again- nice to know I'm not going blind- yet!

A few days after I released AG 1.80 build 4 I noticed that the helpfile missed the DatatracksSelectable part under "extra settings in the ini file" so I updated the helpfile and uploaded a new setup file. That is why some helpfiles for AG 1.80 build 4 has info on DatatracksSelectable and some not.

Some of the settings mentioned under "extra settings in the ini file" are in the ini file and some not. The DatatracksSelectable=False
is not in the ini file so you can simply type
DatatracksSelectable=True
After the last line in audiograbber.ini and save the file again.

You can not screw up so badly if something wrong happens with the ini file. The worst thing that can happen is that you lose your settings and Audiograbber starts with all default settings. But almost all of your settings are probably the default anyhow.
