I'm trying out the free version of Audiograbber. My main intention is to use it to rip CD+Gs so I can back up my very extensive and expensive karaoke collection. So far, I haven't been able to successfully rip a CD+G. What happens is that I can rip to a bin file or to CDG and MP3 files, but they seem to be corrupted. I use the Karaoke Builder player and I haven't had any problems with BIN or CDG files I've ripped with other software.Here's my setup:
2.20GHz Pentium 4
Windows XP
Plextor PlexWriter 8/20 (SCSI) Any ideas about what might be causing this? Secondly, is there a way to provide a base name for the tracks aside from "track 1", etc?

Can you rip regular CD's fine? Check the settings, set it to dynamic sync rip method and rip to ram. That should be the most safe way of ripping.You need a working aspi layer as well. Using aspichk.exe you can find out what layer you have and if it is working. You can also download forceaspi and remove the current layer and reinstall it. AG defaults track names to "Track xx", but if you press the FreeDB button it might find the disc in the database and fill out the names for you. If it doesn't, you should manually type the names and submit the disc for other users. ------------------

i havent been able to rip cd-g files either. so i gave up and use other software which does it well

i use ag to rip my cdgs i have no problem.
the problem you might have is the speed you rip at if you rip to fast (unless its a new disk ) you will get errors in the cdg file (blocks missing in the graphics) i rip to cdg + wav by setting the speed to 4 or 8 (ihave plextor 482448 ide writer) then got to cd on the menu bar and grab karaoke to cdg + wav

but i dotn have any problems with two other cd+g software so the fault has to be audio grabbers. though i guess its just a audio cd ripper anyways so i guess thats cool. it does great at ripping cd's to wave and i'll leave it at that

You're right, it's just an audio-CD ripper. The CD+G ripping is a brand new feature, which needs work. The best way to get the problems ironed out is to give details on exactly what's going wrong. Jackie should have rock solid CD+G support implemented one of these days if everybody with CD+G ripping problems helps out.

If some other program can rip CD+G on your machine, then AG should be able to do it as well. If no program can rip CD+G on your system, then maybe your hardware does not support it.Did you try the tips I wrote in my last post? You can also try to lower the rip speed, maybe that is what is causing the errors. What are the errors more exactly? ------------------
