I'm using AG 1.82 build 2 free version, but plan to pay if I can get everything working to my satisfaction.I'm ripping disks from Sweet Georgia Brown. Based on posts from this forum, I've changed setings to Dynamic Sync Width, Rip to Ram, and used various low DAE speeds. I'm reading the disk using either a Phillips DVD (24X I think) or a LITEON 52X. I've ripped to bin or to cdg+wav. I review the results of the ripping session with the PowerKaraoke viewer.
The audio quality is good and I get graphics about 90%, but there are problems like, for instance, a small part of the background is the wrong color or the text doesn't completely clear. The cumulative effect is that lyrics can be hard to read by the end of the song.
I suppose it could be on the source disks. I don't have a karaoke machine or a WinXP player that reads the disks directly; I'm trying to eventually get to VCD so I can use my existing DVD player. In fact, I've got the last part of the process down and can make VCDs for my DVD player that match the quality of what PowerKaraoke is showing on my PC.
Anyway, help in any of these areas would be appreciated: 1) is this typical of Sweet Georgia Brown disks, so I can quit chasing ripping problems? 2) is there a WinXP player that reads the disk directly so I can check the quality of the disk and eliminate the ripping process from consideration? 3) hints on what I may be doing wrong in the ripping process.
TIA
