I am trying to rip some cd's using my external HP CDR 8200ie (USB drive). I-Tunes has no problem recognizing the drive and ripping the tracks. Audiograbber doesn't recognize the drive at all. (I just read an old post from 2001 that says that one must first disable the internal cd-rom unit to have AG recognize the external) Is this correct. PART TWO: Also, when I use my internal cd-rom that came with my laptop, why does I-Tunes recognize track information encoded on the cd and Audiograbber doesn't? The audio cd was ripped by a friend but obviously he did encode with track information because I-Tunes recognized it all perfectly. Please help and thanks.<FONT COLOR="#800080" SIZE="1" FACE="Verdana, Arial">[This message has been edited by Lgoler on 01 March 2004 @ 06:08]</font> [This message has been edited by Lgoler on 01 March 2004 @ 06:09]

actually, i guess they aren't id v.2 tags if it's an actual audio cd. Right? I believe id tags only apply to mp3 files. The cd album and track information is easily grabbed by I-Tunes from the original cd, but AudioGrabber doesn't recognize the information. Is this clear?

I persume your refering to CD-Text, make sure in AG that in the FreeDB setting window that the CD-Text info box is checked. As for the external CD drive, no idea, sorry.

Audiograbber does not support external drives, it's as simple as that. It just hasn't been implemented yet. The support for IDE and SCSI drives is very extensive though...[This message has been edited by Spaceknarf on 01 March 2004 @ 18:30]

I thought 1.82 introduced support for external USB drives? Taken from the front page:March 4: Audiograbber 1.82 build 2 released. This build 2 supports USB drives, has support for Windows digital playback and works with more drives when it comes to CDG (karaoke) ripping. Read more about it on the forum: http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/boards/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002996.html

I'll be happy to let you know that once I removed my internal cd-rom, AG did recognize the external unit.
