I'm looking to backup my karaoke disk collection but I don't have a dvd burner, just a cd burner.
When I try to copy them now, all I get is the music but no subtitles. Is there a way I can copy these using what I have?

Thanks!

CD+G is easily backed up using imaging programs like Clone CD, Blind Write, Disc Juggler, others.

What software do you have availiable, and what is the make and model number of your burner?

I can copy a GD+G disk into a CDR.
The problem is that there is no lyrics on the display when I play it on the Karaoke.
Can anybody tell me what software and/or cdr drive I can use in order to make my backups?

What program are you using to do the backup?

And,

What is the make and model number of your burner?

And,

How are you checking your new backup?

With a Plextor drive, all you need is CDRwin.

Click here for the help files using CDRwin.

I have a Plextor drive and audiograbber is the best ripper of 15+ I tried for cdg's. I use winamp with the cdg plug-in to play cdg's. All works together real well.

Okay, now I have access to a LiteOn 16X External DVD+R burner (double layer).
It comes with Nero Vision Express 2.

I've tried burning my karaoke disks with the Nero software but all I get is the music
(but no lyric graphics).
I've tried using Clone CD and Clonde DVD with similar results.

Any ideas on how I can back up my disk collection using this burner? Do I need different software?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Follow the instructions provided from the link above for Clone CD. There is a page for version 4.

Hmmmmm... how are you checking your disks?

You can't use nero for backing your cd+g's as far as I know, especially if you just press the COPY DISC. Copying will only copy the audio.

You can rip your tracks using AG (check the menu for cd+g) and then burn using e.g. cdrwin. There may be other programs that can do a 1<->1 copy if that is what you are looking for.

I have had the best luck with plextor & yamaha burners. I have also used plextor & sony readers when doing disk to disk copying of cd+g disks.
Diskjuggler & ClonCd are my programs of choice. CDRWIN used to be ok until Sound Choice started making their disks with 2 sessions on them. The only Plextor reader I had problems with was the px-40ts, this was because it didn't support RAW reading of CD+G.

I am trying to copy my karaoke songs from my hard drive onto CDR discs. I've tried using Power CD+G Burner and DiscJuggler but all I get on Karaoke machines is the music, no lyrics. Do you have any advice or is it most likely the disc type as someone told me CDG Players can be choosy.
