At last I've got line-in recording working under Vista using a Creative Audigy 2 soundcard.

Open up Audiograbber in the normal manner & select line-in recording.

Of course the mixer doesn't work.

The trick is to right mouse click the loudspeaker icon on the task bar click on recording devices and right mouse click again to show disabled devices and disconnected devices and click on these to enable them.

In the case of Creative soundcards you will want to enable "What U Hear" so right click on "What U Hear" click on the properties box and go to the level tab to adjust the level of the volume for recording.

I hope that you can understand this.

Look here for an example:-

Sweet. Now Audio Grabber sees the realtek audioboard on my new computer with Vista. Line in will also record live stream audio too. Thanks Grover!

I have a Realtek High Definition Audio controller on a Dell Inspiron running Vista Home. I couldn't get Audiograbber to see the sound card after enabling the previously disabled recording devices as outlined above. But once I closed Audiograbber and restarted it, presto! Works like a champ!

How did you do it, Boilermaker? I guess I am stupid because I cannot get Grover's directions to work!
